Access and sites
The logistics sector has seen significant growth in the area in the last few years as global operators such as Asos, Aldi and Gist have taken advantage of Barnsley’s excellent M1 motorway links and easy access to the A1 and East coast ports.
Barnsley town centre is a focus for investment and growth, building on over £130million of investment since 2007. The flagship Digital Media Centre is a significant Northern Hub, hosting an increasing number of creative and digital firms.

The district has four Enterprise Zones all close to strategic junctions of the M1, providing development opportunities which attract business rate relief or enhanced capital allowances.
