PROPERTY company Harworth Estates has the go-ahead to start the next phase of Rotherham’s Advanced Manufacturing Park on the west.

Detailed planning permission for three new blocks totalling 73,000 sq ft has been agreed by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.

The second phase will see Harworth Estates, part of the Harworth Group, develop the west of the site. This  follows its £2.2m acquisition of the nearby Sanderson House office building.

Over the course of the development, £1bn will have been spent on the manufacturing hub and surrounding areas.

It has been called R-evolution Phase 2 @ The AMP. Floorspace for the units range from 21,000 to 26,000 sq ft.

The AMP is already home to Boeing, Rolls-Royce, the University of Sheffield, Castings Technology International, Dormer Tools, Sandvik Coromant and TWI.

In November 2015, the AMP celebrated the first order for one of its companies. Chinese firm CISDI signed a £190,000 deal with Sarclad.

In total, the 740-acre development consists of the 150 acre AMP and 4,000 homes along with shops, restaurants, schools, leisure & community facilities and parks upon completion.
