Sheffield City Region delegation will shortly be departing for MIPIM 2016

The Sheffield City Region delegation will shortly be departing for MIPIM 2016. MIPIM is the most important gathering of businesses, investors, public authorities, journalists and thought leaders from the global property market and, this year, will take place in Cannes, France from 15th to 17th March.

13 private sector sponsors have signed up to support Sheffield City Region in attending the largest global property conference.

The private-public sector partnership has put together a programme of events that, this year, will focus on our three themes:

  • Innovation: New Assets and Surprising Opportunities
  • Northern Specialisation: Standing Out in the Powerhouse
  • Urban Renaissance: Affordable Opportunities to Generate Yield and Drive Rents

Sheffield City Region’s main programme will begin on Tuesday morning (8:45am-10:30am) with an event hosted by Sir Nigel Knowles, new Chair of the Sheffield City Region LEP, called Sheffield City Region: The Environment for Growth? which aims to stimulate debate around Sheffield City Region’s three key themes.

On Wednesday morning (8:45am-10am), Sheffield City Council’s Chief Executive, John Mothersole, will host an event, Sheffield: Enabling Development, where attendees will discuss the role of city leadership in driving investment. Attendees will have the opportunities to hear, first hand, the innovative methods Sheffield City Council have used to enable development.

On Wednesday afternoon (3pm-6pm), Sheffield City Region will host an Afternoon Showcase which will be a networking and drinks reception at ‘The Forge’, a bar and bistro, where we will be showcasing development opportunities within the region as well as Sheffield City Region delicacies.

The programme will close with a networking event, the Sheffield City Region Beach Lunch, where partners, clients and contacts will be able to relax in an informal setting.
