MOBA moves its UK Headquarters to Barnsley
Specialist supplier of machine control systems for the waste logistics and construction industry has recently moved its UK headquarters to Barnsley as part of its expansion.
MOBA UK, who have doubled their turnover in just two years, has relocated to a new 13,000 sq ft premises at Park Springs industrial estate, Grimethorpe.
The company’s relocation to the area is part of its ongoing UK expansion plans. Its new premises are 40% bigger than its former home and will allow the company to upscale production and servicing capacity.
The company designs, installs and services a wide range of sophisticated mobile technology products to two main sectors. MOBA waste technology systems and software is used within the refuse and recycling industry to enable waste collection lorries to weigh and sort loads more precisely.
And their high-tech products are also used by the highways construction industry to enable pavers and rollers to lay asphalt at the correct temperature and highest quality, to create roads with a more durable life-span and reduced risk of pot holes. MOBA‘s technology has been used to lay the surface at the Grand Prix track in Abu Dhabi. MOBA’s excavator control systems are also supplied to a number of UK plant hire companies and owner operator contractors.
MOBA UK, whose waste customers include huge companies like Veolia and Viridor, have already recruited a workforce of nine people to work in the Barnsley operation and are currently in the process of recruiting two additional workshop installation technicians and two apprentices to start later this year.
The company has invested £60,000 in refurbishing its new home – to create custom workshop, office and conference facilities and aims to inject a further £400,000 into equipment, technology and staff over the next 3-5 years. It aims to create 20 to 30 new jobs in total.
MOBA saw its turnover double to £2.5 million in the last two years and aims to increase sales and double turnover again by the end of 2017.
MOBA UK is a 100 per cent-owned subsidiary of its international parent company, MOBA Mobile Automation group which was founded in Germany over 40 years ago. It has established operations in a dozen countries including Spain, India, Italy, China, Brazil and the USA.
