Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield has announced eight new routes with Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline.

The new routes, including two major European hub airports, will be operational from the end of March 2016. The destinations are Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Malaga, Alicante, Faro, Jersey and Newquay.

Flybe will become the largest low-fares airline to operate from Doncaster Sheffield Airport with some 44 departures per week and almost half a million seats on the new routes in the first year.

Steve Gill, managing director of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “This is fantastic news for the Sheffield City Region. Flybe will be taking passengers to eight destinations from the end of March 2016.

“Regional airports are vital to the economic prosperity of city regions and we welcome Flybe’s massive investment into the Sheffield City Region, wider Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Lincolnshire and North Derbyshire regions.”
