On March 2nd William Beckett, Managing Director of William Beckett Plastics and Chairman of the South Yorkshire International Trade Forum (SYITF), travels to Singapore on behalf of the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (SCR LEP) Manufacturing Forum.  He leads a trade mission of eight City Region businesses.

The purpose of the visit is to increase new market opportunities to South East Asia, build key relationships with organisers of the Singapore Airshow and the OSEA Oil and Gas exhibition, and promote the region as a destination for inward investors.

William Beckett said:

“I am confident this trade mission to Singapore will present the ideal opportunity for Sheffield City Region companies in established supply chains to increase their exports by penetrating South East Asian markets.

“I look forward to meeting event organisers of the Singapore Airshow and the OSEA Oil and Gas exhibition to research how Sheffield City Region can exploit these platforms to increase exports and promote the compelling offer to investors looking for a UK base.”

David Grey MBE, SCR LEP board member added:

“We have an excellent proposition for expanding global companies and the investment teams across the city region are poised to provide them with world class support.

“I support William Beckett pro-actively visiting Singapore to showcase the UK’s number one fDi rated Enterprise Zone, sophisticated supply chain, highly skilled workforce, great connectivity and affordable quality of life.

“It highlights the compelling opportunities the region offers to the inward investor.

“We are spreading that message to the Singapore business community.”

The trade delegation, in collaboration with and supported by UK Trade and Industry (UKTI), and SYITF enables companies to meet potential customers in overseas markets.  Sheffield City Region businesses travelling to Singapore comprise Macalloy, William Beckett Plastics, Numill, Durham Duplex, Pinder Brothers, Lightwork Design, Arkitectonix and New Era Aquaculture.
